Sokhie Puar
Chairman of the Board
Mr. Puar is the principal and founder of SNJ Capital Ltd., a Vancouver based venture capital firm since February 2000. From May of 2000 and prior to commencing SNJ Capital, he was Senior Vice President of Corporate Development for Capital Alliance Group. In addition, from January 1999 to April 2000, he was Vice President of Corporate Development for Infertek Inc. Previously, from 1987 to 1998, Mr. Puar was an Account Executive at Canaccord Capital Corporation and Noram Investments (USA). He has also served as a director and officer and provided corporate finance consulting services to a number of private and public companies. Mr. Puar holds a diploma in Mechanical Engineering and a Diploma in Business Administration, both from the British Columbia Institute of Technology.

Ron Price
Director
Mr. Price currently operates Global Polymer Solutions, a consulting company established in 2003 and focused on business management, marketing & sales, new business development and polymer technology. The company also acts as an industry representative for both domestic and global engineering polymer suppliers. Prior to starting Global Polymer Solutions, Mr. Price previous relevant work history and achievements include:
- From 2000 to 2003, Mr. Price served as Director, Automotive Business Unit for Huntsman Corporation, a global manufacturer and marketer of differentiated chemicals with 14,000+ employees, 75 operations in 24 countries and revenues of more than $13 billion. Mr. Price defined and led a team responsible for four innovative new polymer technologies and $150M+ in annual revenues.
- From 1989 to 2003, Mr. Price was the Marketing Manager, Automotive Business Unit for ExxonMobil Chemical, one of the largest worldwide petrochemical companies and an integrated manufacturer and global marketer of olefins, polyethylene, polypropylene, oriented polypropylene packaging films, plasticizers and other petrochemical products. As part of his responsibilities, Mr. Price served as an acquisition team leader and was responsible for the acquisition of two polymer companies.
- From 1964 to 1989, Mr. Price served in a number of executive management positions with Borg Warner Chemicals, a global plastics manufacturing unit of Borg Warner Corporation that was sold to General Electric in 1998. During his tenure, he established a major market position with Japanese automotive companies as well as coordinated global business plans, P&L, programs and pricing for OEM and tier suppliers.
John Bell
Director
Mr. Bell is currently serving as the Consul Honoraire de Cote d'Ivoire a Vancouver and Patron of the Malaysia-Canada Business Council. In addition, he serves as Director on the boards for both Goldcorp Inc., one of the world's largest gold mining companies and Taiga Building Products Ltd., Canada's largest independent wholesale distributor of building products. Mr. Bell's significant career experience and accomplishments include:
- In December of 2004, he joined the Board of Wheaton River Minerals as an independent Director, which became Goldcorp in February 2005.
- In November 2003, he joined the Board of Taiga Building Products as an independent Director.
- From 2000 to 2002, he served as a member of the Board, Vancouver 2010 Olympic Bid Corporation.
- From 1999 to 2006, Mr. Bell was a Chief Federal Negotiator in the British Columbia Indian Land Claims Treaty process. He also undertook numerous consulting assignments in Cote d-Ivoire, Brazil, and Malaysia on behalf of Canadian companies such as Bombardier and Alcan.
- In December 2002 he was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II's Golden Jubilee Medal.
- From 1997 to 1998, he served as Ambassador for Canada's Year of Asia Pacific. In between postings, Mr. Bell had various assignments within the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade in the trade and environment sectors as Director of Personnel and Acting Director General for the Trade Commissioner Service.
- In September 1996 he received the Panglima Cemilang Bintang Kenyalang (PGBK) award from the Governor of the State of Sarawak, which carries the title of Datuk in Malaysia.
- In his Foreign Service career, from which he retired in 1998, he served in various capacities in Stockholm, Accra, Abidjan, Paris, Sydney and New York before being appointed Canadian Ambassador to the Ivory Coast, and concurrently to Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso (1984-87), Brazil (1987-90) and as High Commissioner to Malaysia (1993- 1996).
- In 1993, he served as Adjunct Professor in the Sustainable Development Research Institute at the University of British Columbia.
- In June 1992, he was special advisor to the Canadian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Head of the Canadian Delegation on environment issues during the lead-up to the Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro, and was Canada's chief negotiator at the Earth Summit.
Mr. Bell has a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of British Columbia, where he also received the alumni award of distinction in 1995 as well as a Doctor of Laws honoris causa in 1998. In November 2005, Mr. Bell completed the Rotman School of Business Director's Education Program and is a certified member of the Institute of Corporate Directors. He currently sits on the Advisory Board to the new Quest University in Squamish B.C. and was previously a senior Advisor with Capilano College's Asia Pacific Management Cooperative Program (APMCP) and Latin American Management Program as well as a Director of the Laurier Institution. Mr. Bell is fluent in English, French, Swedish, and Portuguese.
Praveen Varshney
Director
Mr. Varshney is a chartered accountant, having obtained his C.A. designation in 1990. He has been actively involved in the capital markets since 1995, and is a director of Varshney Capital Corporation, a merchant banking, venture capital, and corporate advisory firm.
Mr. Varshney is also a director and officer of a number of publicly-traded companies including Carmanah Technologies Corporation. He obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia in 1987. Following that, he was with KPMG from 1987 to 1991. He is a member and past President of the Vancouver chapter of the Young Entrepreneurs' Organization (YEO) and a founding director of the Vancouver chapter of The IndUS Entrepreneurs (TiE). Praveen is also a director of the Varshney Family Charitable Foundation, on the Sauder School of Business Faculty Advisory Board, and a past recipient of Business in Vancouver's 40 Under 40 Awards.
